Farmington High School Musicians Serve the Community Through Music

Young musicians shared their gifts with people in senior living facilities, the hospital.

During the month of December, students from Farmington High School volunteered to perform for residents of senior living facilities in Farmington.   

The Jazz Band performed at Middlewoods of Farmington. The Guitar Club led by senior capstone student, Chanwon Yoon performed at Middlewoods also. Members of the FHS Chamber singers performed at Village Gate even leading a sing-along with residents. Two violinists performed at the Hartford Hospital ICU on Christmas Day. The Men’s Choral Group and Oriana Singers perform at the Senior Center. The Madrigal Singers performed for the Senior Citizen Luncheon at the Rotary Club. Another group of vocalists and instruments performed at the Jerome Home.    

“FHS music students are dedicated to sharing their talents with senior citizens in our community,” says Leslie Imse, Farmington Public Schools Music Department.
