The Superintendent's office has announced that all Farmington Public Schools will be closed today, Wednesday, Jan. 16. EXCL will be held at Noah Wallace School.
Town and school offices will be open. Tunxis Community College will open at 10 a.m.
Snow began to fall before dawn, and according to the National Weather Service, snow, sleet, and rain will continue through 3 p.m. Additional daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is expected on top of what has already fallen. Highs near 36° are predicted for Wednesday.
A Winter Weather Advisory for the area was issued Tuesday afternoon, and is in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
