Farmington Schools Hire New Business Administrator

Position is responsible for budgeting, personnel and more.

Just two months after longtime Farmington Schools Business Administrator Mike Ryan announced his retirement, the district has appointed a replacement.

Farmington Superintendent Kathleen Greider announced recently the appointment of Charles Zettergren as business administrator, effective July 29.

Zettergren was chosen after a national search, according to a press release from the Board of Education.

“Mr. Zettergren has an extensive background in finance, personnel, and operations. He is an individual that is committed to excellence in all aspects of his work. We are fortunate to have found an individual of great integrity and expertise to lead all aspects of finance and operations in the Farmington school district," Greider said in the release.

Zettergren comes to Farmington from his current position as director of finance and operations for the Rocky Hill Public Schools, where he is responsible for budget and financial planning, personnel and facilities operations, transportation, food services and coordination of school building projects – similar responsibilities to the Farmington position.

In addition, Zettergren completed his 6th Year Education Leadership at Southern Connecticut State University. He holds a Master’s Degree in Organization Leadership from Quinnipiac and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Nichols College in Massachusetts.
