Give Your Farmington Pre-Kindergartener 'A Good Start'

The Farmington Public Schools' Early Childhood Program is designed to meet the unique individual needs of Farmington children. The goal of the Farmington Early Childhood Program is to provide each child with a developmentally appropriate education which addresses each child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth and development. 

The first component of our Early Childhood Program is A Good Start, Farmington’s partnership with the parents of pre-kindergartners.  This program is designed to help ensure a successful transition to school next year. A Good Start offers programs and activities for parents and their pre-kindergartners throughout the year.  In order to become involved in this introductory process, it is necessary to participate in Kindergarten Pre-Registration.

In order to plan A Good Start activities for this school year, the Farmington Public Schools are now holding PRE-REGISTRATION for students eligible to start kindergarten in September, 2014.  Children whose 5th birthday falls prior to January 1, 2015 are eligible for kindergarten in 2014-2015.  Parents of preschoolers are requested to call their local elementary school during the month of December to notify the school of their intent to register a child and to provide an address to which registration and A Good Start materials and information can be mailed.

Each elementary school will also notify parents of prospective kindergartners regarding dates and times of A Good Start activities and parent orientation meetings prior to January, 2014.
