Seventh-Graders Take Second in Science Bowl
IAR students participated in University of Connecticut event.
Four seventh-graders from Farmington competed in the 7th annual Connecticut Middle School Science Bowl at the University of Connecticut on March 3.
Omar Ahmad, Spencer Buzdon, Allen Haugh Tom Messier, and Jash Mirani, all of whom attend Irving A. Robbins Middle School, competed in 10 rounds of academic "quiz show" type format, answering science and mathematics questions. They also built an electric car.
The four boys competed against 23 other teams from 16 Connecticut towns, finally coming in second place to Hopkins School in New Haven.
