Sixth Annual Lauren Avezzie Fun Run

Event supports Lauren E. Avezzie Scholarship Fund and honors memory of teacher's daughter.

The Sixth Annual Lauren Avezzie fun run at Union School was Sunday, May 6, 2012. This event is attended by Union School students, alumni, parents, teachers and staff.

Union School Physical Education Teacher Dave Avezzie and his wife Cindi and daughter Alison, started the Lauren E. Avezzie Scholarship Fund when their daughter Lauren died in 2006. The Fun Run and a golf tournament raise thousands of dollars that go to causes Lauren was either involved with or cared about.

Union School students compete by grade — kindergarten through fourth, and there is a men’s and women’s race, too. This event is a great way to encourage exercise, have fun while exercising, and show school spirit.
