Teachers, Parents Join Students In West District Fun Run

West District community enjoys an afternoon of fitness together.

About 192 West District Elementary School students and about 50 parents and teachers took part in the annual Fun Run Wednesday afternoon at the school.

The event, overseen by physical education teacher Joel Ziff and many of the school's teachers, encouraged students to have fun as they ran. Each student in the school had run the course - altered by grade level - and gotten a personal time, which they then tried to improve on.

This year was the first time teachers and parents were invited to participate and about 50 did. The adults ran first, including Principal Sharon Lowery.
