Town Council Honors Farmington High School Wrestling Team

PROCLAMATION  WHEREAS, in 2013 the Farmington High School Boys Wrestling Team finished the season with an overall record of 32-0, the only undefeated wrestling team in the State and the most wins in an undefeated season by any high school team in Connecticut’s history, and  

WHEREAS, under the leadership and guidance of Head Coach Eric Misko, and Assistant Coaches Mike Daniels, and Craig Suhre, the team became the Central Connecticut Conference Champions with Coach Misko earning his 300th career coaching victory, and  

WHEREAS, the Farmington Town Council hereby recognizes Team Captains Garrett Hastings, Chris Thomas, George Sticca and Mike Berlandy for leading their teammates into victory, and  

WHEREAS, the Farmington Town Council also recognizes Town of Farmington wrestling team members Joe Miano, Drew Dahlberg, Tim Kelsey, Peter Bowser, Joe Carpino, Ryan Rigney, Mason Yancey, Harry Pacheco, Dovydas Simanskis, Joe Fillian, Fernando Roldan, Tom Stevens and Brandon Marquis for the accomplishments they demonstrated over the past several months and for their hard work, dedication, perseverance and love of the sport of wrestling, and  

WHEREAS, in addition to their many and varied tournaments, the wrestling team went on to win the 10th annual Indian Classic Wrestling Tournament, and the All-Valley Duals Tournament, and  

WHEREAS, the wrestling team overwhelmed their competition winning the Joe Beler Duals Wrestling Tournament and was recognized with a Team Sportsmanship Award, and  

WHEREAS, the boys wrestling season came to a remarkable end after several months of dedication, team work, and fun for a very talented wrestling team and their coaches.  

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Farmington Town Council, in recognition of the accomplishment of the Farmington High School Boys Wrestling Team, hereby proclaims April 8, 2013 as Farmington High School Boys Wrestling Team Day.  Dated at Farmington, Connecticut this 8th day of April 2013.
