Tunxis Motorcycle Education Classes Start in Spring

Classes required for those seeking a new motorcycle license.

Tunxis Community College is offering Motorcycle Rider Education courses starting in April, both in Farmington and East Granby. The program is offered in cooperation with the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Office of Highway Safety, required for applicants to obtain a new motorcycle license.

Students are also eligible for a 10 percent insurance discount as well as exemption from the DMV skills test following completion.

Classes are offered for either beginning or experienced riders and are taught by licensed instructors. The course takes as little as three days or two weekends.

Motorcycles and safety gear will be provided if necessary.

Those who wish to sign up for motorcycle courses should hold a driver’s license or motorcycle permit and be physically able to operate a motorcycle.

For more information or a detailed schedule of classes, visit tunxis.edu/motorcycle, or call the Tunxis Motorcycle Safety Program at 860.255.3671.
