Isabella and Owen Vogler were in for a surprise Monday when their parents told them how they would be riding to school on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
Heather and Rich Vogler won a fire truck ride for their kids, Isabella and Owen at an auction at the Eagle Open hosted by the elementary school PTO at Fatmington Woods in June.
The family invited their friends' children, Owen Wahl, Evan Wahl and Holden Greico to ride on a Tunxis Hose fire truck to West District Elementary School.
The parents were equally as enthusiastic as the kids as they watched them board the fire truck.
"We were so excited. It was one of best days ever," Heather Vogler said.
She was very grateful to Tunxis Hose. Vogler said "it's awesome that they even consider" it, donating their time and the cost."
