Forget-Me-Not Goodies for Farmington Seniors

Volunteers from Services for the Elderly of Farmington gathered on July 3, 2013 to assemble baskets filled with little goodies to bring to eighty Farmington seniors to let them know their friends at Services for the Elderly of Farmington are thinking of them.   The items were purchased thanks to a charitable gift from the Farmington Community Chest. Baked treats were generously supplied by the Village Gate of Farmington. Services for the Elderly volunteers delivered them to the Meals on Wheels clients and seniors around town needing a pick me up.

Farmington Services for the Elderly is a non-profit volunteer agency providing valuable programs and services to Farmington’s senior citizens. It is funded by the United Way, the Town of Farmington, local service organizations, churches, businesses and private donations.

Through the Meals-on-Wheels program, volunteers deliver meals for people of any age or income who are unable to prepare a nutritious, balanced meal for themselves.  This is great way for the family to volunteer together.  The average time commitment for a delivery route is 90 minutes.  For more information, please contact Nancy Walker at (860) 673-1441 or email at services@farmingtonseniors.org.
