A Perfect Night For Baseball

Senior Legion Baseball Unionville Post 32 on 2012-15-06

A close game was predicted by fans at the game between Torrington and Unionville at Fuessenich Field on Friday, June 15 and close it was.

Torrington was first on the scoreboard in inning one and led 1-0 through three.  David Kerlezja scored in Unionville’s half of the fourth on a single by Harry Pacheco.  Kerlezja’s single in the fifth plated Travis Kozak for the go ahead run.  With the score 2-1, Unionville pushed across an insurance run in the top of the seventh when Max Spracklin, who reached on a double and stole third on a wild pitch, scored on Johnny Arcidiacono’s sac bunt.

Chad Morin pitched a complete game for Unionville.  He faced 27 batters, struck out four, walked two, allowed five hits and got two batters to ground into double plays.  In the bottom of the seventh he faced only three batters before sealing the win.
