Avon Edges Unionville

Senior Legion Baseball Unionville Post 32 on 2012-11-06

Unionville lost a close one to Avon by a score of 3 to 2 on Monday, June 11 on Carpenter Field at Avon Old Farms.  The Avon pitching duo of Connor Doyle and Mike Castellani allowed eight hits.

On the mound for Unionville, Juan Rojas faced 28 batters. He gave up five hits, walked three and struck out two.  Four defensive errors and two base runners caught stealing proved costly to Unionville as well.

Contributing offensively were David Kerlezja with three singles and Harry Pacheco with a stand up double. Max Spracklin, Johnny Arcidiacono and Jimmy Mulpeter each had singles. Travis Kozak hit a two out clutch single in the seventh to plate Spracklin.  With Kozak, the tying run on first, Unionville just could not muster another hit.
