Last-Second Touchdown Lifts FHS Indians over Bristol Central, 35-28

With just nine seconds remaining in regulation play junior running back Ivan Guadalupe scored a touch down lifting the Indians over the Rams of Bristol Central, 35 -28.  It started with an interception by junior running back Colin Grattan with about a minute left in the tied- up game.  In the final play of the game quarterback Kenny Jones handed off the ball to Guadalupe.  Guadalupe refused to be stopped and fought his way across the line to score the winning touchdown.

On offense, Jones had a strong showing as quarterback, passing for 133 yards, completing eight of eleven pass attempts.  Two of those passes were converted to touchdowns by tight end Elijah Johnson and wide receiver Anthony Carpenter.  Jones also rushed for 150 yards and scored two touchdowns.  Guadalupe rushed for 142 yards and scored the winning touchdown.

Senior linebacker Mitch Berlandy led the defensive attack on the Rams with  twelve tackles.  Jones supported the defensive effort with ten tackles as well.  Senior defensive end Tom Stevens had eight tackles including two for loss. Senior defensive end Jo Fillian sacked the Rams' quarterback two times to help the Indians' defense.
