Northwest Catholic Overtakes Farmington Girls on a Penalty Kick

Kick was only goal in competitive Monday night match.

FARMINGTON – Jessica Fontaine scored on a penalty kick to give the Northwest Catholic girls soccer team a 1-0 win over Farmington in a CCC West match at Tunxis Mead Monday night.

The goal negated a superb performance by Farmington goalkeeper Courtney Hofer, who registered nine saves and deserved a better fate.

“Farmington’s goalkeeper was amazing,” Northwest coach Todd Sadler said. “It was a very competitive, even game. Farmington was well-organized and was dangerous on the counter.”
