Thanksgiving Day Football in Farmington

Old Canal Cup Football Game is versus Plainville.

There’s nothing like a football game on Thanksgiving Day.   Grab your families, neighbors and friends and head to the Farmington High School Football field on Thursday, November 22nd for the 10am kick-off of the Old Canal Cup Football Game, Farmington vs. Plainville.

Farmington Football Head Coach Chris Machol says, “There is something special about Thanksgiving Day football in New England and we are excited that we were able to revive an old rivalry with Plainville last year.  With the move to the CCC and the division we are in, we weren’t guaranteed a chance to play our neighbors (Simbsury, Avon, Hall, Conard, NWC) so it was important for us to have this one game with a traditional rival.  I think everyone on both sides is excited for a chance to keep the Olde Canal Cup at their school for the upcoming year.”

Adding to the excitement of the game, is the Senior Day celebration (Senior football players, managers and cheerleaders will be recognized) and an exciting halftime performance from the Farmington Varsity Cheerleaders.
