Once again, my brothers and sisters in Christ, we face the body blow of another mass shooting, yet another senseless act of violence. “Is there no balm in Gilead?” is Jeremiah’s plea; circumstances such as these sometimes make them ours! When we are uncertain of which way to turn we must, continually, turn to God and each other. On Wednesday, the 18th, at noon, St. James Parish will hold its Eucharistic celebration as we always do. We will also have special prayers of healing, prayers for an end to violence, and a time to hold onto each other once more, in the face of yet another large scale act of violence in our country. Fr. George Roberts, priest at St. James, will be available after the service for special prayers and concerns.
