"Journey of the Universe"...why are we here?

John Grim, PhD, of Yale University, will be with us, at St. James Parish, for the final Sunday in our series on Faith, Culture, and Science, on Sunday, February 9.  Dr. Grim will show us a wonderful short documentary film called “Journey of the Universe.”  He will then lead us in a discussion of the film’s themes, the challenges of belief in the scientific age and how we, as people of faith, connect the created world with our own belief in a cosmic and universal God.

John is Senior Lecturer and Research Scholar at Yale's School of Forestry and Yale Divinity School where he co-directs a joint degree Master's program in religion and ecology.  He has taught at Bucknell and Sarah Lawrence, edited and written texts on Native American indigenous culture and religion.  The session will begin at 7 p.m., following an informal reception at 6:30 p.m.
