The 119th Tunxis Hose Fireman's Parade

Tunxis Hose hosted about 40 units of firefighters from across the state at annual parade.

On the last day of the 119th Fireman's Carnival, about 40 units of firefighters and marching bands from across the state joined Tunxis Hose Company No. 1 in a parade.

The procession started on South Main Street, led by Tunxis Hose, and made its way over the bridge. The line of marching bands, firefighters, and fire trucks made its way to the Fireman's Carnival grounds to the sound of jubilant music. Some firefighters from Farmington and East Farms Fire Departments were called away for emergencies just before the parade began.

The firefighters and bands were judged at a reviewing station near Farmington Bank. Town Council members, State Rep. Bill Wadsworth and House Speaker Chris Donovan watched the parade from a platform there and chose the best band.
