CGA to "Enshrine Rights for Homeless", can granting be far behind?

The central premiss of this blog is that governments, any government, does not grant rights, nor can they rescind rights, nor should they ever have the power to do so!  The corollary to this premiss is that Progressives / Socialists will keep attempting to convince you that they have such powers [only to be used for the good of the Collective].  They will say that they are granting you rights, "enshrining" your rights in law [other than the Constitution], and making up new rights [most famously the four freedoms] until the point that the sheep start to believe that politicians have such powers and them Bam.

Once Progressives / Socialists have convinced the sheep that the Government is the source of Rights, it is an easy step to take away or infringe what you have granted. Of course, they will start with only those classes of people that are out of favor or activities they and you don't like but once the precedent is established, Bam! [told you you should have read  pastor Niemöller quotation / poem "First they came for ..."

They try to infringe rights at the best of times, for example speech they do not like becomes "Hate Speech" and is deemed illegal, your due process rights are set aside because we are looking for a terror suspect 25 miles aways from where we last saw him, a mentally ill person uses a gun to commit a crime so they infringe legal gun ownership, or someone uses knowledge to make a bomb so we outlaw knowledge and anyway to gain access to this proscribed knowledge, but I digress.

Who knew that once you were homeless, SOMEONE strips you of your God given rights and it required an act of the Connecticut General Assembly to restore and enshrine into law these "once lost" rights so that they cannot be lost or take from you ever again [unless it is in the best interest of the Collective]. If it were not so totally absurd, it would be funny.  The life-long leeches sucking on the life blood of the productive Citizenry of our state and the political hacks and sycophants that attend them, actually have the hubris and belief that they can "Enshrine" or "Grant" or Rescind" a Rights.

Thanks to the Hartford Courant for reporting on this story, Legislature Considers Bill Of Rights For Homeless it is good to know that the CGA is "DOING SOMETHING" for the 4,210 people who have had their rights stripped from them by the evil citizens of the state.  You know the same citizens who fund 100s of millions of dollars in programs and giveaways "to address the root causes of homelessness", who watch the coercive power of the state redistribute their income to endless state mandated programs that never actually "fix problem" and who engage in individual acts of charity [yes it is charity not a government mandated entitlement] by donating of their own free will millions more to private agencies and NFP who work with the "homeless", poor and disabled.

And, yes those evil citizens who would prefer that their parks, libraries and public spaces not be turned into Obamavilles [oops should have said "Bushvilles" or "Hoovervilles"] or that public urination and defecation not be allowed.  Who knew that vagrancy, loitering, public nuisance, and anti-begging laws were kin to slavery, jim crow, and anti-miscegenation laws.  That's why I love reading the Courant, I learn what the sheep need to know every day!

News flash:  This country was founded on the Enlightenment principle that rights are universal, inalienable and endowed by the creator to all men [Rich or poor, landed or homeless, white or black, male or female] . The Citizen is Sovereign not the government! We established governments, created the Constitution and formed the Union for the sole purpose of protecting and defending these rights. Government does not grant rights! Incidentally this position is so important that it should be Conserved ergo Conservatives!

Don't let Collectivist Shepherds tell you that they can grant [and by extension rescind] rights, they can not do so even for the current cause selb at the CGA "THE HOMELESS".
