Progressive / Collectivist Dictionary Update
Generally speaking Progressive Collectivists believe that they are “smarter” than you are, “better educated” than you are and “care” more than you care; consequently, they are the rightful shepherds of the knuckle dragg’n, cousin kiss'n, bible thump’n, PBR swill’n, cognitively-impaired, under-educated, self-interested and uncaring Sheeple. They require no additional moral authority, they simply say it is so and the Sheeple should recognize it as so, so shut up, sit down and do as you betters tell you to do.
But just like every bully I have ever encountered, Progressive Collectivists are frightened that they will be challenged and in the ensuing confrontation found wanting. So they invent academic gobbledygook to justify their status, positions, and actions. Most Progressive Collectivist are Deconstructionist in the classic sense follower of the French philosopher Jacques Derrida. They believe that “Western Values” require re-evaluation and that texts [like the Constitution] outlive their authors and become part of a set of cultural “habits” surpassing the author’s intent. Simply put, the meaning of the words in the Constitution have become habit [dare I say a bad habit] that the Sheeple must break [for their own good]. But going “Cold Turkey” on the current Constitution and adopting a “living” or “relativist” document or interpretation would most likely cause a civil war.
So Progressive Collectivist do what they always do, they MOVE FORWARD WITH PROGRESSIVE CHANGE.
A quick digression, this is why they so hate what is happening to Detroit. Clearly for all to see Democrat, Union, and Progressive Collectivist rule may move a city forward but forward does not always mean towards something BETTER! Clearly Detroit is not better off as the result of 50 plus years of Progressive Collectivist rule! So the Spin Masters must convince residents [and the rest of the country] that Detroit is better off than it would have been if the GOP had been in charge [good luck with that one].
Progressive Collectivist have borrow a technique from the treatment of heroin addicts; namely, substitution, maintenance, and eventual detox. After the Great War, they began to use the coercive power of the government to slowly titrate the Sovereign Citizen off their birthright of freedom and individual responsibility and slowly replace them with dependence upon the state and collective salvation. One of the tools Progressive Collectivists used to achieve their “hearts desire” is the redefinition of words. First you get your Lackeys in the Mainstream Media to label word use that you wish to change as bad [or hate speech], then you redefine the words and before the Sheeple know it, the original meaning of the words has vanished except for “obscure and anachronistic” reference in old dictionaries.
An example of this redefinition is the name of this blog. Because a group of radicals, some of whom are bigots use the words Sovereign Citizens to describe their movement, one of the greatest achievements of humanity [that the Citizen is Sovereign] has been banned from public discourse. Even though it is the bedrock principle upon which our Constitutional Democratic Republic was created, it is banished from the union and Collectivist controlled public schools and textbooks. A Sovereign Citizen is now a racist anti government militia waco who will not pay their “fair share” in taxes and believes in common law rather than an individual who is endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights [that the government can not give, takeaways or abridge] who freely join together to ensure these rights for themselves and the posterity. Fear not, it works in the opposite direction as well, today in common usage Jihad is no longer the only form of warfare permissible under Islamic law [wars against unbelievers, apostates, rebels, highway robbers and dissenters renouncing the authority of Islam], it is only a personal struggle to walk in the way of Allah [nothing to see hear keep moving].
But at last I get to the point of today’s post. Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) recently urged members of Congress to uphold their oath to "protect and defend" the Constitution by passing harsher gun control laws. Said Pelosi: "In Congress, there can be no more fitting memorial to the lives lost in Aurora, in Newtown, and across the country than a concerted effort to enact common sense gun safety legislation. We must uphold our oath to 'protect and defend' the constitution and all Americans by expanding background checks and keeping dangerous firearms out of the wrong hands."
I will leave Ms Pelosi’s statement to stand on its own merits or lack thereof. What I will point out is the evolution of four little words. Shall not be infringed morphed into “reasonable restrictions allowed” which morphed into “gun control” which included “getting guns off our streets” which morphed into “reasonable gun control” [don't forget the implied or stated FOR THE CHILDREN]. But in her press release Ms Pelosi introduced the next generation or revision; namely, “common sense gun safety legislation”. Shall not be infringed has morphed into “common sense gun safety legislation that keep dangerous firearms out of the wrong hands”. By definition aren't all firearms dangerous and aren’t wrong hands anyone who is not a government sanctioned first responders [and loyal to the Collective - Oath Keepers need not apply]?
If it were not for the decades of progressive “redefinition and repeat” undertaken by the Progressive Collectivist controlled Mainstream Media, an assertion that one is defending the Constitution by enacting “common sense gun safety legislation” that would take guns out of virtually every citizen’s hands would be openly mocked by all. But today such pronouncements are given gravitas by the media and the Sheeple say Baah, Baah, Baah two plus two equals five but more importantly when will the next episode of Polygamy USA be on?
