Connecticut Red Cross Workers Travel to Oklahoma Tornado Victims

The Connecticut chapter of the Red Cross in Farmington is sending volunteers to the stricken area.

The Connecticut Chapter of the Red Cross, based in Farmington, has jumped into action to help those affected by the devastating tornado in Oklahoma earlier this week.

“Our thoughts are with the people impacted by these horrific tornadoes,” said Mario Bruno, American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island CEO in the release. “Connecticut Red Cross disaster volunteers are now joining Red Cross disaster teams that are helping now and will be helping for weeks to come as people in Oklahoma recover from these storms.”

Quaker Hill resident Ginny Haas will be supporting Red Cross Safe and Well Services, which helps disaster victims inform loved ones that they are fine, the release said. Bethel resident Nelson Medina will assist with warehouse operations, as well, according to the release.

To help those in Oklahoma, visit the Red Cross website, text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 or call 1-800-REDCROSS.
