RELAY FOR LIFE OF FARMINGTON

Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society, but it is not just a fundraiser - it is a nationwide movement that offers an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.  Relay For Life is - a celebration - a communtiy festival - a family event - an exciting, energizing, fun event.  Relay is an opportunity to honor cancer survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer) and caregivers and to pay tribute to those who have passed away from cancer.

In its 11th year the Relay For Life of Farmington is a memorable 24- hour community celebration attended by over 1,000 people from all over the area.  Over 100 teams will set up and decorate tents and campsites for an overnight stay at Farmington High School and take turns on the "track" walking in solidairty to fight cancer.  All participants spend the day and into the evening and next morning enjoying entertainment, food, music, games, sports and camaraderie.

NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, THERE'S A PLACE FOR YOU AT RELAY.  EVERYONE in the community is invited to come and be part of Relay on Saturday, May 21 to enjoy and participate in the festivities as well as remember and celebrate all of those they know who have battled cancer.

Immediately prior to closing the 24 hour Relay, we take time to think about what we each can do to fight back against cancer.  Through advocacy, joining the ACS CAN, cancer education - each making a personal commitment - so that we can come to a time when no one will have to hear those three words "You have cancer".

It's about a community that takes up the fight!!

Together we can and will make a difference!!!

Last year more than 3.5 million people including more than 500,000 cancer survivors participated in Relays at more than 5,034 sites worldwide, raisign over $386 million.
