Green Dog Market Teams Up To Help Homeless Animals

Pairing with Blankets & Bowls to provide comfort items to animals in shelters.

Green Dog Market market owners Ann and Paul Fryer are teaming up with Blankets & Bowls, a small organization that helps homeless animals as they wait in shelters and rescues for their forever homes.

Blankets & Bowls Founder Lisa Robin said she saw a need for the basic comfort items that make each animal’s day-to-day existence better while volunteering with animal rescue organizations. Inspired by the quote from St. Francis of Assisi “Start by doing what is necessary; then do what is possible…and suddenly you are doing the impossible,” Robin decided to provide a service that would help existing animal shelters and rescue organizations create a comfortable environment for the animals waiting for their forever home.

Farmington residents can stop in at Green Dog Market to help. They are looking for items that most people have in their homes that will improve the animal’s living conditions, including towels and small blankets, leashes, collars, stainless steel bowls, safe toys and clean crates. They accept and collect all year long.
