Kids Take the Driver's Seat at Touch-a-Truck

Local companies, Farmington Fire department and police volunteer for the event.

The upper parking lot at became a playground Sunday afternoon as vehicles from all over town assembled for the annual Touch-a-Truck event.

Eager children yanked on parents' hands and pulled them over to each vehicle for a chance to sit in the driver's seat and honk a horn or turn a steering wheel. They explored fire trucks, rescue vehicles, cement mixers, tractors and a limousine, all lent by local companies, Farmington Fire and Police.

Though LifeStar couldn't make it this year, families got an up-close look at all the other cool trucks in town. A large raffle put toys and prizes in kids' hands while benefiting the Trails Fund.
