Bill Baker for Board of Education

Bill Baker received a B.A. from the University of Vermont in Political Science, a B.S. in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University, and an M.B.A from the University of Connecticut.  His distinguished academic career is matched by his distinguished military service.  He served in the United States Army for 19 years, 12 as a member of the CT Army National Guard and seven as a member of the US Army Reserves with the current rank of Captain.

Bill is Assistant Director, Operational Risk Management at The Hartford, Founder of Baker & Baran, LLC, Accounting services firm, and has served as an Auditor with the State of Connecticut’s Office of the Auditors of Public Accounts.

Bill’s community service runs deep.  He is a member of the Unionville Historic District and Properties Commission, a member of the Farmington Veterans Committee, Vice President of the Exchange Club of Farmington, and Post Commander of Farmington Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10361.  Bill has served the Farmington Public Schools through his volunteer role with Project Graduation, including serving as Equipment Committee Chairperson in 2013.

He served as the Treasurer for the Farmington High School Girls’ Soccer Booster Club and was a Farmington Soccer Club travel coach.

Bill resides in Unionville with his wife, Joy.  His children, Kaitlyn and Kyle are proud Farmington graduates.
