Economic Development meets the Board of Education--We all win

We all know Nancy Nickerson and are looking forward to her election as our Town Council Chair, but her running mates are outstanding and capable citizens in their own right.  Jeff Apuzzo is the Chairman of Farmington’s Economic Development Commission. Under his leadership, Farmington enjoys a robust commercial and industrial tax base which reduces the burden to individual taxpayers and provides necessary funding for our schools and our municipal services.  Jeff has been able to grow Farmington’s commercial tax base while adhering to his philosophy that economic development can and should be accomplished without encroaching into residential neighborhoods or overdeveloping existing commercial properties.  Transitioning to the Town Council will be seamless for Jeff and his desire to maintain a solid commercial tax base without compromising the character of our town will be an invaluable asset to everyone.  The Town is also fortunate to have Meredith Trimble join this team as she prepares to depart from her seat on the Board of Education.  Meredith's knowledge of the biggest piece of the town budget and her commitment to keeping our educational system strong is indisputable.  When Meredith sees her two children off to their day at Union School and preschool she does so knowing that she made a difference for them and all of their classmates through her hard work on the Board.  Meredith's prior service for the State as an ethics watchdog and educator will serve her well in keeping our Town Council the professional and transparent body Farmington residents deserve.  Her excellent work with the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities has been a benefit for other towns it serves in the region.  Let’s keep Meredith working for us in Town on our Town Council.

All this team needs from you is your vote on November 5th.  Please help us spread the word that good government is just a vote away.
