As outgoing Chairman of the Farmington Town Council, I enthusiastically encourage you to support Town Council candidate Meredith Trimble at the polls on November 5. My years of service on the Council, including two terms as Vice Chairman, have given me a deep understanding of what qualities – professional and personal – are best suited for this role. I truly believe that Meredith will be an effective contributor to the new Council.
The Town Council has a number of important policy areas under its purview. Meredith Trimble has substantive professional experience in each of these areas – experience that can directly benefit all Farmington residents. Particularly in areas of education, policy development, budgeting, and measuring effectiveness of government services, Meredith’s relevant experience will enable her to jump into the work of the Council with an immediate understanding of the issues and processes. Meredith also has distinguished government service at the federal and state levels, and has been a sought-after resource and trainer for many other Connecticut towns on issues of ethics and organizational development.
Meredith is a natural collaborator and consensus-builder. The Council is required to act as a group to move all important initiatives forward for Farmington residents. The Council is the chief fiscal and policy authority for the town. As such, it serves to establish the strategic goals and priorities for the town. I’m confident that Meredith has the intelligence and the discipline to promote our most important priorities.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Meredith Trimble as a choice on the ballot. Please join me in supporting her on November 5, as her election will be a true win for all Farmington residents.
