Mark Blore for Board of Education

Mark was raised in Monroe, CT, and attended Western Connecticut State University where he studied English Literature and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1996. He has worked in both the financial services industry as well as the auto insurance industry, and is currently a Senior Representative at the Hartford Insurance Company.  Mark is also a licensed referral agent for the Keller Williams Realty Company.

Mark’s wife, Kristen, is a public school teacher in Tolland, and together they have two sons, Jonathan, 9, and William, 7.  Since moving to Farmington nearly a decade ago, Mark and his family have come to care deeply about preserving and continuing the quality of education here in town. He frequently speaks highly of the wonderful teachers and rich learning environment his children are experiencing at East Farms School, and on weekends he can be seen shuttling the kids to many town sports activities such as soccer, baseball, basketball and Tae Kwon Do.

A volunteer den leader for Cub Scouts, Pack 68, Mark is also a Sunday School teacher at Christ Community Presbyterian Church in West Hartford.  He is an Executive Member of the Farmington Republican Town Committee and an active member of the Farmington Exchange Club.  These volunteer activities have given mark a unique sense of Farmington’s quality of life and services, and he has built many meaningful relationships around town.
