Meredith Trimble for Second District Town Council

As an elected Member of the Farmington Board of Education, Meredith brings with her expert knowledge of Farmington’s joint Town-Board initiatives as well as school district finances, which comprise a majority percentage of the Town’s annual budget.

Meredith’s background includes distinguished federal and state-level government service.  At the United States Federal Election Commission, she worked alongside of U.S. Presidential appointees to teach campaign finance law.  As the state’s first Director of Education for the Connecticut Office of State Ethics, Meredith developed a statewide ethics education program, mentored high-level officials at each state agency including the state’s executive offices, and led the agency’s results-based accountability budgeting initiative.  Upon leaving state service after the birth of her second child, Meredith transitioned to consulting, with ethics-related contracts at the University of Connecticut’s Office of Audit, Compliance and Ethics and United Technologies Corporation, Global Compliance.

Meredith is a Board Member of the Farmington Public Schools Foundation, Executive Committee, is an officer of the Union School PTO, Sunday School music leader at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, past Chair, Coppermine Village Association Covenants Committee, and past Board Member, Development Committee, Winding Trails Recreation Association.  Her husband opened his own small business in Unionville in 2012, which has created four new full-time, professional jobs for the area to date.  Together, they live in Unionville with their two young children:  Ian, 6; and Madeleine, 3.

Outside of Farmington, Meredith is known as a contributor to the Hartford Courant, Hartford Business Journal, The Washington Post, and other publications.  She has moderated panels and written for the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws and served as Connecticut’s representative on the Northeast Regional Conference on Lobbying.  She was a regular presenter for the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and was a featured speaker for many Connecticut Town Councils and Boards of Selectmen on topics of conflicts of interest and ethics guidance/enforcement at the local level.
