Mike Gurski for Town Plan and Zoning Commission Alternate

Mike has been actively involved in the Farmington community since he moved here 22 years ago.  Becoming elected as a Planning and Zoning Alternate will be a natural extension of his investment in Farmington.  When elected, he will apply his professional and community experience, as well as his familiarity with town regulations, to work cooperatively with his fellow Commission members.  He will make knowledgeable and informed decisions regarding land use that will benefit and strengthen the Farmington community.

An Alliance Manager with Alstom Power, Mike has previous experience as project manager responsible for the development, construction and maintenance of power plants.  He is a graduate of CCSU, and holds a B.S. in Industrial Technology.  Mike sits on the Industrial Advisory Board for the CCSU School of Engineering.  He and his wife, Brenda, have three children:  Stephen, Katie and Elizabeth – all beneficiaries of a strong Farmington school education, Farmington sports programs and community services.

Mike is the Vice President of the Farmington Village Green and Library Association (FVGLA), participated on the Barney Library Renovation Committee, and is a board member of the Farmington Foundation.  He is actively involved with the Farmington Exchange Club, having served as past Secretary and Board member.  As a parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish, Mike has served on the Parish Council and new church building committee.
