Paula Ray for Town Clerk

Paula has been Farmington’s Town Clerk since 2000.  Over the past 14 years, she has expanded the role of the Farmington Town Clerk and managed the technology upgrades in the Town Clerk’s office.  She is the Records Manager for all Town departments and has developed a Records Center and Records Management Plan.  She has taken training with the Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission and serves as liaison between the Commission and all Town Departments.  All of the maps since the 1600’s and land records since 1984 are now available digitally for all departments on the Town of Farmington Intranet, and for the public on the Internet, making the retrieval of information more efficient.  The Town Clerk’s office received its first electronic recording this August, which made Farmington the fifth town in Connecticut to receive electronic recordings.  Paula has written for and received grant funding from the State of Connecticut to help defray the costs of the technology upgrades.  She is now in the process of making the land records from 1980 to 1983 available electronically.

She is highly regarded by her peers in the Connecticut Town Clerk’s Association. She has served as Vice President representing Hartford County and is currently on the Executive Committee as Secretary.

Paula has volunteered her time with many Town of Farmington organizations.  She is currently on the Board of the Friends of the Farmington Library (past Co-chair), on the Board of the Farmington Community Chest (past President and current Secretary) and Secretary of the Farmington Veterans Memorial Committee since 1991.   Paula served on the Farmington Board of Education from 1993 to 2001 (six years as Vice Chair), and is a past board member of the Farmington Land Trust.
