Calling itself "Farmington's Living Room," the Farmington Library provides a comfortable and engaging atmosphere to learn, research or relax.

The children's department is bordered by an extensive collection of stories, board books and non-fiction and a puppet theater. Colorful underwater-themed murals, a fish tank and a play house encourage hours of pretend games. Special programs and activities spark young imaginations and develop school-readiness skills daily.

Upstairs in the adult section is an expanse of everything one might go looking for—cookbooks, computer how-to, novels, magazines, movies and music. There are dozens of computers for research, work or just catching up on e-mail. A career center is available for job seekers, and a teen center provides a place for students to come after school or on weekends.

Friendly librarians, both upstairs and down, are experts on the library's resources.
