Michael's Jewelers is a fourth-generation family business. It is one of the leading merchants of fine jewelry in Connecticut, offering rings, bracelets, necklaces, watches and more. They were founded by Abraham L. Michaels in1885. After moving from Halifax, Nova Scotia, the first store in the United States was opened in New York City by Abraham's son, Irving in 1911. Then in 1915, it moved to New Haven, beginning its successful run in Connecticut. W. Mark Michaels, Richard H. Michaels and Paul Michaels are now running Michaels Jewelers.
