The store offers outerwear, swimwear, tank tops, shirts, jeans, fleece, underwear and accessories for kids. The first store opened in 1987 in Dublin, Virginia. The Aéropostale name is French for <em>"</em>air<em> </em>mail<em>."</em> It originated from the 1920s French/Latin-American airmail firm Compagnie Générale Aéropostale. It is located in the lower level of the Westfarms Mall, near JC Penney.
