Charles Lewis Tiffany opened his first store in 1837, and unlike other shops in New York, his costume jewelry was marked with a sticker price that stuck - no haggling and no credit. He only accepted cash. Soon he was able to buy real jewelry, and today the Tiffany name is associated with luxury and taste. The company designs, makes and sells jewelry, watches and crystal glassware. In addition the stores offer timepieces, sterling silverware, china, stationery, writing instruments, fragrances, leather goods, scarves and ties from such exclusive designers as Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso and Jean Schlumberger. This store of the national chain is located in the upper level of the Westfarms Mall, near the Center Court.
