Started as a small fire station to put out neighborhood fires, the East Farmington Volunteer Fire Department now…More responds to about 1,200 calls per year for a myriad of emergency services.</p> <p>As first responders, firefighters participate in rigorous training to prepare for medical emergencies, car accidents, hazardous waste spills and fires.</p> <p>East Farmington firefighters are also involved in giving back to the community through volunteering and teaching Farmington students about fire safety.</p> <p>The station uses three trucks and two water rescue boats to respond to calls.</p>

Sanford-Brown, formerly known as Gibbs College until June 2010, is a career training institution located in The…More Exchange. It offers programs of study including medical assisting, medical coding, business and fashion design and merchandising. Students who attend the school go to classes Monday through Thursday either days or evenings and are able to graduate in 18 months with an Associates Degree.  </p> <p>The bright and modern classrooms are home to a group of caring and knowledgeable instructors who guide the students through the programs. The students and staff are committed to giving back to the community through the many volunteer projects they complete every year. Upon graduation students go on to careers in their chosen specialty.</p>
