[Update] Car Seriously Injures Pedestrian In Route 6 Accident

Update, 11:11 p.m., Sept. 30

The 51-year-old pedestrian hit by a car on Route 6 Monday night is in critical condition, police said just after 11 p.m.

Police are not releasing her name at this time.

Route 6 is scheduled to reopen at 11:15 p.m.

A 51-year-old woman hit by a car on Route 6 was taken to the hospital Monday night to be treated for serious injuries.

Farmington police responded to the crash site between The Hampton Inn and Farmington Valley Equipment at 6:55 p.m. on Sept. 30.

Police said just before 9 p.m. that the portion of Route 6 is expected to be closed for about three to four hours.

An ambulance transported the injured pedestrian to Hartford Hospital.

Officers on the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad are investigating the accident.

Police have not released the name of the injured party at this time.

More information will be provided when it becomes available.

Police ask anyone with information on the accident to contact the department at 675-2400.
