Vote on Your Farmington Municipal Candidate Slate and Other News

The Farmington Democratic and Republican town committees will hold their caucuses this week and there are many fun events on the calendar in town.

Political CaucusesIt's that time of year when the Farmington Republican and Democratic town committees will be selecting their candidates to put on the ballot for various municipal seats. The Farmington Republican Town Committee will hold its caucus on July 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Farmington's Senior and Community Center and the Farmington Democratic Town Committee will hold its caucus at the same location on July 23 at 7 p.m. Only committee members can vote at the Republican caucus, but all registered Democrats can vote at the Democratic caucus.

Farmington Town Meetings: 
Note the change to Wednesday for the Town Planning and Zoning meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall Council Chambers.

First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Training
Tuesday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to noon. at 209 Farmington Ave. in Farmington. 

Free Blood Pressure Screening: The Farmington Valley VNA is offering the screenings at the Farmington Senior Center (321 New Britain Ave., Unionville) on Tuesday, July 23 at 1 p.m.

Sunken Garden Poetry Features Richard Blanco: Bessy Reyna hosts the event at Hill-Stead Museum (35 Mountain Rd.) from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24. 

Director’s College Event: Inside Nepal: Hari Koirala, professor and chair of the Education Department at Eastern Connecticut State University will talk at the Farmington Main Library (6 Monteith Dr.) about "his upbringing in Nepal," according to an announcement posted on Patch. 

Children's Puppet Playtime at the Stanley-Whitman House: Storyteller and puppeteer Marilyn Price will help the kids make puppets and use them in a play. The event starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Stanley-Whitman House (37 High St., Farmington).

Hike to Will Warren's Den: John Vibert leads the Farmington Land Trust hike up Rattlesnake Mountain, leaving from Wadsworth Memorial parcel at 6 p.m. on Thursday July 25.

Introduction to Memoir Writing: Writer Ann Sheybani leads the event at the Farmington Main Library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 25 at 2:21 p.m.

Farmington Recreation Summer Concert - The Skid Marks: The free concerts starts at Alice Clover Pinney Park at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 25.
