Farmington Man Accused of Hurting 7-Week-Old Baby Arraigned in Court

Morsy M. Elzawawy, 29, of Farmington, faces charges of first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor.

A Farmington father accused of harming his 7-week-old baby was arraigned Monday in Hartford Superior Court.

The judge continued the case of Morsy M. Elzawawy, 29, to Nov. 5, according to the judicial website. Elzawawy, of 304 Colt Highway, Apt. 28, has not pleaded yet to his charges of first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor.

Farmington police arrested him after Connecticut Children's Medical Center staff reported to the Department of Children and Families "that they were treating a seven week old baby for multiple bone fractures," police said in the arrest log.

"The fractures were unexplainable by the parents of the child," police said.

Elzawawy remains out of custody because he posted his $250,000 surety bond.

More information will be provided when it becomes available.
